Quick update:

Stacey made it through the first week of chemo quite well. We call it "day camp", since she's in a big room for about 2 hours a day with lots of other chemo patients, all receiving their treatment.

Very few side effects, with the exception of some neuropathy, which is pretty weird - it makes you very sensitive to cold, which means touching a cold object feels like a burn, and eating / drinking something cold closes the throat and burns like hell.

She's having good days and bad days, but her appetite is increasing somewhat... Prayers are working, I have no doubt.

Stacey sends her love.

I bet she's had some goofy conversations with some of the other patients...

no ice cream? i thought that was a perk of staying at the hospital. or is that only when you get your tonsils taken out?

glad to hear she is doing well and not getting wiped out by the chemo, its rough stuff. you guys are strong. keep it up, and keep us posted.

Another quick update, since a few folks asked:

Stacey has had a great week!

She's up and about a lot more, spent some time visitiing with her "fan club" at Tech Day this Saturday, and went out and got her hair cut (looks SOOO hot!).

She's eating well, and trying to put back on some of the weight she lost, which was a lot.

She's still battling some pain and some dizziness, as well as "night sweats" (caused by the chemo) but all in all, is doing awesome!

Chemo resumes Wednesday, keep up the prayers - She is proof that prayer WORKS.

We love you guys!

If she wants hair for a wig, say the word and my hair is hers. I have like 9 inches and I've meaning to get it cut anyway.

Glad to hear she's doing well.

Quick semi-update -

NICOmom got some amazing news from her doctor today... I'll let her fill you guys in on the details, but it's nothing short of miraculous.

She'll be popping in soon to elaborate.

As most of you know I was diagnossed with stage four colon cancer that had matastisized to my liver. Before my surgery I had a cancer count over 2000. My liver did not even have 25% that was free of cancer. Basically all they expected the chemo to do was buy me some time.

Chemo goes in six month increments and the doctors fully expected me to be on chemo for longer than one round(more like 4). I have been doing so well on the chemo! God has used it to heal me from this aweful disease. Today my doctor told me that my cancer count was down to....29!!!!!!! Normal range is 0-5!

Now they believe I will be in full remission by the end of this round!! (October)

GOD IS SOOOOOO AWESOME!! I am so grateful to all of you who have prayed and encouraged Greg and I. You all have been a real blessing to us.

I am so excited. To know that God helped me to kick this things butt is amazing and a little overwhelming. Thanks again to all of you.

Blessings and much love,

Nicomom

that's super cool...but does this mean you don't lay golden eggs?

ah well...I'm still gonna live in a castle on a cloud...

on a more serious note...this is most awesome.

this mean you guys are gonna maybe make it to NOPI this year?

I gotta have my Greg fix...I've been feindin' for it since Lex...

That really is great news, I think it's safe to say that everyone on this board was very worried.
