K&N without a doubt. Most gains and made the best.

I've tried several and ended up ebaying all of them. Don't make my mistake. Stick with K&N unless you need the looks of an aluminum tube.

If you want all stock connections and everything to fit perfectly, there is no other choice than K&N. The tubing resists heat, there is a heat shield, brackets made for the car, great installation instructions, etc....

I have a Stillen Intake only because I got it free.

The Roar Filter design looks pretty good, IMHO. I checked the website and the Carbon Fiber design seems to be a good addition to shield/resist heat. Although it's not a true CAI, it looks like a solidly built intake.

I tried the MAC intake. It doesn't have all the vacuum hose connections. I don't suggest it for that reason. You can easily drill holes and make them if you want, but I'd rather have the K&N that does.

USC45, I have a 01 QX4 and 00 Prelude also, minus the hot girl on the hood. Sweet looking rides, ebay has a lower billet grille for the bottom bays if you're looking for some.

the pictures are pretty bad (old digitial camera).http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/737249

thanks. i do like the K&N intake as i have one, but i just figured i'd throw that MAC one in the mix. the prelude belongs to kim, not me. i also saw that billet lower grill on ebay, but the seller was charging too much for shipping. thanks for the heads up tho.

Just wanted to say, The Roar I have in my 350z is a True cold air system. The stock 350z air box is a true cold air, and the RoarFilter replaces the stock 350z airbox puling in air the same way. Check out the roarfilter.com site for your self. If you didn't notice, the RoarFIlter pulls air only from the front like the factory 350z airbox. It just does it alot better.. So well in fact I ditched my old CAI on my 350z. You can keep your K&N. I'd rather show off my RoarFIlter on my 350z VQ series 3.5 6.

Oh by the way, on my 350z I used the heat resistant race Silicon Fiberglass pipe coupler hose rather than any aluminum one? But doesn't K&N use painted steel piping for your Pathfinder Qx4 . It is hot to the touch on your Qx4 ?

350z install photo. - Check how the cold air gets to the RoarFilter, like the stock airbox. The cold air is completely encased. It's not a side shield . Looks like It belongs on the 350Z . It leaves me speechless everytime I pop the hood.

I installed the K&N FilterCharger on my 2001 QX4 yesterday. Went very smooth- all the hardware and instructions were perfect. All hoses, wires etc. fit just right. There is some apparent "SOTP" performance inprovement- at least better sound. I recommend the product.

That's a nice setup on the Z. Unfortunately, the Path/QX4 stock airbox doesn't draw air from the same spot, so a "true" CAI is tough to achieve.

I have had the K&N Aircharger on my 2002 Pathfinder for about 8 months. NO MAF PROBLEMS TO REPORT. It was super easy to install and sounds great. Minor performance increase and minor increase in MPG. I got an email from K&N a few weeks back saying they had released a model that is emissions legal in CA. It looks to be exactly the same as the one I have and I'm working on getting some paperwork from K&N to help on the next smog test (not sure if it's necessary, but just being cautious).

I would definitely recommend the K&N, especially if combined with an exhaust. Certainly not knocking the others, since I almost went with the Frankencar, but couldn't reach them to actually buy one.

larry cold air intakes are legel in california now, only thing thats not legal about the set up is if you remove any of the sensors from the intake ducting that were in the original intake.
