It's not terrible, but your speedometer will read lower than it should.ROGUEPLANET wrote:Ok, I see alot of views on this topic, but no post lately.
I should have read this before i ordered my wheels and tires.
I am going from stock 16's to 18's, 235 55 18's.
SO, what kind of issues am i walking into here? I see im in the red by eggnogs chart.
My wheels wont be in until July, and they ordered my tires as well, should i go back in and tell them i need to change it to 225 55 18's to be on the safe side???
What would you do?

I had 20" wheels and was lowered on sport springs for a while and lived in NYC and never had a problem, so I'd say even 18" has little to no chance of bent or damaged rims without suspension damage (in which case you have other problems) and NYC roads are no better, if not possibly worse than Northern Jersey roads. That being said, I downgraded to 18" rims and swapped the stock springs back to recover a lot of lost ride comfort at the expense of only some handling prowess.idelgado782 wrote:Hey guys. I'm looking to replace my steelies on the rogue with some rims. I'm not sure what size I should go with. I'm considering keeping the tires I have now, they are new pretty much no tread wear. Or getting wheels and tires package either 17 or 18. Here is where my reservation comes to play. I live in Northern NJ and there are tons of potholes in my area. I had 18s on my Acura TSX and constantly had cracked or bent rims. I know that its because there wasn't enough tire to absorb the pothole, and I'm not sure if I would have the same problem with the suv now? That is why i'm considering staying with the 16" tires and just having them put on the new wheels. What do you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!!
I'm on my second Rogue, and both came equipped with 18" wheels. No worries!EddNog wrote:I had 20" wheels and was lowered on sport springs for a while and lived in NYC and never had a problem, so I'd say even 18" has little to no chance of bent or damaged rims without suspension damage (in which case you have other problems) and NYC roads are no better, if not possibly worse than Northern Jersey roads. At the end of the day it should really reflect your personal taste, but my wheels look exactly like the silver version of your second choice from the top (I have silver 18-inch Elbrus IO6 wheels on my blue Rogue).idelgado782 wrote:Ok guys. Thank you so much. I figured it wouldn't be too much of a problem because I know there more expensive rogues come with stock 18s as Rogue One just said. I really like these. The first & second ones are my fav. And the more I look at the second ones the more I really like those. Which ones do you guys think? I might be getting them in the next few weeks. Thanks so much again for helping answering my ?'s
I also really like the drifz but from what i've read some sites say they don't fit the rogue and some say they do? How would I be able to verify? If they would fit, I would like to get them in all black. If that's not possible, I was thinking about plastidipping the emblems and grill red. What are your thoughts?
Thanks again guys!
Any tires you want of any classification, as long as they are the right size, will work just fine.rdub2k4 wrote:Idk if this is a stupid question or not, but I'm looking at picking up some 2005 Infiniti G35 wheels for the Rogue. 18x7.5 +30 66.1 hub. 5x114.3 bolt pattern. So it should fit like a glove and be flush w/ the fenders. My question is tires... Looked up on tirebuyer and they recommend $160 tires. Do we have to use SUV/Truck tires on the rogue at 225/55 or can I use some Nexans? $110 compared to $160 is huge per tire. Thanks guys.

So kencyr1, basically you can put 20" on your Rogue without a problem but the bigger the rims are, the tire profile will be lower and this will make the ride somewhat rougher...EddNog wrote:I had 20" wheels and was lowered on sport springs for a while and lived in NYC and never had a problem, so I'd say even 18" has little to no chance of bent or damaged rims without suspension damage (in which case you have other problems) and NYC roads are no better, if not possibly worse than Northern Jersey roads. We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum. Merged with existing thread.RNsteve wrote:I have my first ride,a Nissan Rogue 2010 SL with tire size 225/60/17. According to the size/fit calculator i've used, it should be a good to go, but just wanted some second opinions.
Thanks.

Welcome to NICO!spearfishman wrote:Hi everybody, does anyone know if it's possible to use a 16" rim from an older Rogue on a new 2016 Rogue SL? Our car currently has the 225/60R18 tire on it. But we are looking for a set of rims for winter tires.
A google search seems to indicate that only 17" & 18" rims are allowed.
