Because all of the Js came with BOSE stereos that had individually ampped speakers.

You could do like I did and build an entire new stereo. The only original parts I used were the wires from the front speakers to the stereo as I couldn't figure out a good way to run new wire to the front door speakers.

I did new:head unitEQ (in dash, under head unit)200w Kenwood amp for four cornersnew speakers at all four cornersbazooka self powered 10" suball new speaker wire

I ripped the entire interior out of the car, shampoed carpet, pressure washed carpet, and then ran all the wires under the carpet before I put it all back together. Very clean. Looks great, sounds great.

depends on your budget and how long you plan on keeping the car....

Just lately I seen a double din 7" touch screen dvd, I cant remember if it was Kenwood or JVC for $499.

Or you can go lower with just a cd with mp3/wma capabilities for $100-150.

if the factory speakers still work, you can run the bose integrator. Should cost no more than $30-50. Install parts, including integrator, shouldnt total more than $75-100 depending on where you buy them.

But really it all pretty much stems back to the level of work and cash you want to put into it.
