Put a mesh grille on the bottom openings. & no, it doesn't have to be chrome. That would look good IMO.

Actually I would just like to see you try it out, do you plan to do a paint match? or leaving it black.

so i looked at the J30 today, and im not going to do sideskirts or rear lip. Im just going to do a front lip because the sideskirts will have to screw into metal. AKA rust will form after a while. The front lip will have to screw into that black underbumper protector thing.

Won't the existing screws create a gap between the bumper and the lip, since the lip won't be able to sit completely flush?

No lie, I've been thinking about trying to improve the J's aerodynamics for gas mileage (ala http://www.ecomodder.com), and adding something to direct the air a little further down would be a potential part of that. In all honesty, I probably won't do it, but I've considered it. WI winter wouldn't be friendly to flimsy plastic fastened onto a RWD car. I'd turn into a snow plow, hahaha.

While I'm at it, though, what is everyone's gas mileage like these days? I just filled up at 25.6 mpg, mixed city and highway. I've hit over 27 before (all highway), and I want to somehow make it to 30...hence the aero thoughts. Just for the challenge, really.

nahh it will be ok, since the screwes sit in a "crater" kind of. The lip will go over that. And with the snow plaw, im not sure if it will be a winter driver or not, and they do a good job plowing the streets. I get around 16 MPG, i only know cause i suck gas fast. How do you get accurate MPG?

Fill up,Note Mileage, Drive it down to about a quarter tank. Then fill up and divide the mileage diff by the gallons taken to fill up.

Ah, I hadn't look that closely I guess. Yeah, I fill up to the top, reset the trip meter, and then devide miles by number of gallons it takes to fill up next time. I think I was a little over a quarter tank on that fillup. 16 is pretty low. I think the lowest I've calculated was around 19, and I probably didn't leave the city for it to get that low.

I took the car in today to have my oil changed, and the mechanic checked the consult codes after I told him about the poor gasmillage. He said there werent any problems, but the gas companies are adding way too much ethanol which is giving everyone bad millage. He told me the above equation so il check it out. need my plugs changed soon though
