HiMy dealer has quoted the following costs for repairs during the 150000 mile service (which itself is costing $500.00)

I30 1999 model.

Replace blown ac resistor $200.00that is keeping the AC fan always on(because they have to remove the dash)

Starter replacement (makes noise when starting): $500.00

Oil leak: need to reseal: $1200.00

The car has a lot of miles and I am wondering if a) quoted costs are reasonableb) repairs are required.c) If i had to do one of the 3 which is the most important and should be tended to immediately.

I am not auto-savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

All the cheap miles were used up!Find a competent independent Nissan shop to work on your Maxima equivalent.

Held up pretty good for 30,000 miles per year x 5.

How bad is the oil leak?

If minor, you can postpone that or go to thicker oil.

Thanks for the responses. The car has lasted beautifully for 5 years with heavy driving (approx. 100 miles/day on los angeles area highways) and I just sent the last loan payment yesterday.

The oil leak is very minor.

Any recommendations for a repair shop (near burbank, van nuys, marina-del-rey in CA)?

Thanks again.--rajesh.

I am not real familiar with CA geography but are you close to ElSegundo by any Chance?

Fred..:)

PS: I think $200 for a job that requires dash removal is a good deal.If you are running a 30 weight oil now going to a 40 weight should reduce leakage

Good , now that you no longer have payments you can start spending that amount per month to return the vehicle towards newer condition.I'll bet there are other things than the $1900 listed.......shocks?
