Adjusting the hood latch...HELP!!! (...please?)

Alright...I just picked up a new hood. Everything lines up perfectly (corners, sides, etc) except I can't seem to close it. When I push down on the front, the loop slides perfectly into the latch mechanism, but it doesn't fully engage it. Either the loop needs to be longer or the latch needs to be raised. How do I go about doing this? There don't seem to be any tracks for the latch assembly to move within so I'm sort of at a loss.

My hood pins are in the mail as I write this, but who knows how long it'll take them to get up here!

Also, where would I be able to mount the rubber bumpers? I can't do it in the stock location because that's where the hood pins are going...

What hood did you get? my hood latches but I have to push down on it about the same pressure as stock. I don't know if there is an adjustment for the latch it self to go up or down...never really looked at the mechanism.

Hmmmm...well then...I got the VIS Racing hood.
