i just replaced the cam angle sensor on my vg30dett but it is limiting me to 3500 rpms, i think the CAS just needs to be adjusted but im not sure how to tell if im adjusting it correctly, any advice?

The only way to get it set right I believe is with a timing light.

yup, you need a tiing light and some won't work with the test loop so some of us use a spark plug wire to fit between the #1 cop and plug, the one I use is fomr a pathfinder, it has a long solid tube to make fiting to the plug easy

You have another issue. The CAS cannot be out far enough to limit the RPMS significantly. If the CAS is in about the center of the adjustment range it will be a close starting point to get it to 15 degrees, but as the others say, you will need and inductive timing light. I always clamp the wire harness right at the #1 coil pack connector.

*I'd run ECU diagnostics first....might be MAF or ???
