Well on Wednesday I fitted the 4 recharged strut accumulators supplied bt Texas oil. It took me about 3 hours. I am very happy to report that all went well and the ride is now amazing. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would now rate it a 8.5 whereas before I would have given it a 3. This is the biggest single change I have ever experienced with a repair.

Congratulations for maintaining a uniquely designed vehicle as it should be maintained. Never understood why people convert. If you don't want an a model, don't buy one.

And unless the whole thing is completely shot, its usually about the same price to get it close to as new condition as it is to convert.....

Yes it cost me $250 each for the 4 strut accumulators from Texasoil plus the cost of 5 liters of active fluid from Scottsdale. The job was very easy to do but for anyone doing this in the future make sure you unpack all 4 accumulators as two of them are marked with an F for front. These apparently have a slightly different level of nitrogen charge according to Texasoil. Also ensure that the dust seal is fitted to the center of the hydraulic pipe fitting on the accumulator.

I was able to do this job without removing the wheels and just by jacking up either end and using axle stands.

I have been riding around today on a variety of road surfaces and the ride is truely remarkable. It really absorbs bumps, pot holes etc very well. This combined with almost zero roll and no dive or squat is a fantastic experience.

I realize there are another 5 accumulators that could be changed but I think I need to take a break for now to save my dollars and cents.

Own one and you'll understand.
