We have a 2015 Rogue and occasionally the AC barely puts out any air. One time I switched it to max AC and it started working properly. A week ago it wasn't working again so I turned it off and back on and it was working again. It was almost like rebooting a computer. My wife tried it a couple days ago in town and she said it wasn't working again. I went out this morning and without starting the car I tried it and it was working fine. Any ideas on what the heck is going on?

I'm going to assume you have an Auto system and not Manual. If so, your VBC (blower resistor) is probably on the way out. The gen2 Rogue Autos have an unusual dual-driver setup inside the VBC, and when the FET for the high speed settings is failing you often get symptoms where the fan runs but not as fast as indicated. Cycling the system or taking some action which changes fan speeds will sometimes "wake it up".

Please explain auto vs manual system.

If it has an "Auto" button and a set-temperature display for each side, it's Auto. If it just has dials for temperature and fan, it's Manual.

This one is manual. Thanks.

Then it could still be the VBC, but more likely it's the blower motor, either obstructed or a bearing binding up.

One thing I should ask, does the blower sound like it's running slower, or does it sound like it's running fast but there's no corresponding airflow? If it's the latter, then you may have a TXV Valve that's stuck open and freezing the A/C evap. That blocks airflow, but it will clear itself as soon as the ice melts. Then the system will work again until the next freeze. Bad TXV's are very common on gen2's.

It's definitely running slower. I can barely hear it and it works fine while using the heat when it's cold out.
