So what do I need to do? My mechanic(neighbor) who's helping me told me to bring the head to a shop to have them adjust the shims and change the valve seals. But i'm wonder they're probably going to have the ca18de information/fsm but would the turbo version have different specs?

I"M VERY SORRY, i feel like a noob, but when im close to "finishing" something i get all antsy

The parts on the ca18det head are the same as the ca18de, including the valves, valve seals, springs.etc..

So, just tell them it is from a pulsar 1988 with ca18de. Definitely get the seals replaced and get them to inspect the valve guides to make sure they are good.

This is exactly what I did/told them and my head works just fine.

my budget is whatever to get the ca18 running. I'm changing the piston rings and all the gaskets. I got a sr turbo, 3 inch dp, 3inch exhuast. Probably not going to go for high power yet. I just want something to run right now. Maybe up to boost to 10psi and thats it.

Thanks for the reply about the pulsar being the same. Just needed to double check. thanks

have the shop check the valve guides for wear and whether the valves are straight and seating properly. Have the valve springs checked for load and installed height. Have the head checked for warping and cracks. Have the cams and lifters checked for excessive wear

If the guides are bad have them replaced and the valves too. If the springs are iffy get new ones.if the head is warped have a cleanup pass done to square up the deck.if the cams and lifters are bad get some good condition used ones.

These are just basic overhaul items. If you wanted to spend some more money you could;

Use bronze guides in place of the stock iron onesUse light titanium retainers and stronger springsHave the ports gasket matched, clean up the shortside radius and the runners. Be sure there is a step on the exhuast side though to fight reversion.Get some aftermarket cams and solid lifters

These are basic streetable stoplight weapon items.
