I have a problem in my I30. The problem is when I'm starting the car for the first time in a day. I start the car, after about just 3-4 seconds, the RPM goes down and the car trembles then it turns off. So I start it again and put my foot on the gas pedal!

When the temperature gauge goes up and the car warm, everything is ok. It's all when I'm starting it for the first time in a day.

Also, the engine light is on. I went to a mechanical and he said the air mass sensor is the problem but I'm not sure so please help me and what do you think the problem is?

One more information, I bought the car from Phoenix, it was very good, but when I came to my town Flagstaff the engine light goes on, and the problem started in my town which is very very cold. I went to Phoenix and Tuscon, which are warm places, the engine light goes off!

It sounds like the MAF(Mass Airflow) Sensor is likely your problem here. The mechanic would have likely scanned the car for any stored codes, so if it told him that the MAF had been acting up, then that's probably how he came up with the diagnosis. I would be inclined to believe him though, from what you're describing.

Thank you very much for replying. I'll change the mass air sensor, but need your help too.

I'm gonna buy the sensor online, I found two sensors but I'm not sure which one of them is what I need.

This is the first one:

and here's the second:

If they're the same part but different companies, which one would you recommended?

Thanks in advance.

They claim to be OES/OE part which if true will be a bargain since that part from an Infiniti dealer will cost $400+. The first one is a complete assembly - MAF sensor and housing. The second one is only the MAF sensor. So it's your call which one to buy. If you go for the latter, avoid touching the sensing element with bare hands as it could contaminate the sensor.

Thank you for replying,

one more question for you please, are you sure that the first one is a complete assembly? coz it seems to me that the second one is larger and has more details than the first one! Just wanna be sure,

waiting for you

And you would recommend the first one?
