Hey. Im new to the forums and im 15year old belive it or not im i am in love with the 240sx. I get my car next year and im looking at what i should go for. I know if i do get the 240sx i will most probably drop in the sr20det. But what about the ka24de motors. How much power are they pushing turbocharged or supercharged? Im lookin at 96-98 240sx models. That car is on of the sleekest looking nissans i've seen. I was asking because maybe you guys can give me little help on where as what i should do. There is a ton of things i want to do to it when i get it. Im tired of all my friend rolling in the rice rockets and ya there pretty fast if the there turbocharged. But i know the 240 will out do it.Thanks alot.

This makes our third 15 year old member. Wow, go us... or something. Welcome. In case you didn't notice I'm 15 too, and BB is somewhere around. You seem to be ahead of yourself already, how are you gonna get the $ for that? SR would be cheaper than making a KA-T, but KA-Ts are pretty rare comparitively. Umm... the other problem is reliability of a KA-T, SRs are pretty bulletproof. I'm sure someone knows power numbers. Don't get too excited, I started here right after turning 15 (and having been on VW boards for a few months) and got ahead of myself because now I know what I want, but I have to wait another little while. It's still fun to find out stuff and figure out what you want to do. Of course there's still the money issue...

hey,ya i know all of us have our dreams but it takes time.I can be patient.I know money doesn't grow off trees but ohwell.Plus savings in the bank that i can't open till im 18 and soon to be stared working soon.So what are you going for.I heard those guys with the sr20's are pushing serious numbers.Doesn't the sr20 have alumin block and heads?The ka24de are pushing reliable numbers stock.I wondering either keep the ka24de motor and turbocharged it or just go with the sr20.Im looking more at the sr20.Later

I'm still trying to figure out your name... turbocharged S15 and you don't have a car... and every S15 is turbo presumably since I believe only the SR20DET is offered in Japan... just messing with you.

Anyway. I'm thinking 95/96 5spd SE with the hopes of SR or maybe an RB25 within a few years of that, depending on my cash situation. When will you be 16 anyway? You seem to know something about 240s already, good, less flaming that way...

hey check out this video.Its a supercharged 99 mercury cougar pushing over 250hp.Its the same car as my dads car. I tried to post a pic of it but it was too big.My pops is pushing at about 170-175hp at the wheels.Its pretty quick for a v-6 but topspeed is all there at about 145. It has a few perfomance mods.He's looking to turbocharge it and that will boost up to over 300 hp at the crank.Enjoy

well if and when with my 240 i want to be right over 350 crank hp.That will make me happy.And be happy at around 12sec or maybe 11 depend on psi.

i don't understand it...as soon as someone gets a 240 they are allready asking about the SR20 and say "im going for the swap..." why don't people learn about their cars engine b4 they go wit the swap...im not trying to sound like an a s s, but thats just me.

Ride4Lame - I'm 19 and I have a runing SR, It came with a burnt transmission. But it runs! =P

I dove into this SR thing way too fast.. Gonna have to learn as I go. But I was still making the payments on the car when all my Anti-freeze turned up in my oil.
