98 I30 A/C Recirc Noise

I have a 1998 I30 with 186K miles. I've had it just a few months. All parts of the a/c and heat worked just fine. Recently I started hearing a "shutter" noise behind the glove box when switching the recirc control. Also having trouble getting cold a/c, only warm air. I've been told it may be the air mix actuator. What's the best test to make sure I need this part and how easy is it to replace? Thanks!!

You should be able to figure out what's involved with replacing the blend door in the FSM that you can find here. I used to have the same issue on my 98 Maxima and the doors just needed to be cleaned and lubed up.
