Hi all, newbie here. Hoping that I can get a quick, knowledgable reply. Going to the transmission shop this coming AM...
I purchased a 4wd transmission out of a `98 Frontier (4 cyl KA24De) to install into my `95 4wd D21 hardbody (4 cyl KA24e). I was told a 4 cylinder 4wd Frontier transmission would work.
I noticed right off the bat that the gear shift is different. I'm assuming they can just swap the gear shift out from my existing transmission (to make it fit the boot right). BUT, it's got me wondering if they'll run across any other problems with installing this transmission. Like... Are the electrical connectors the same on a `98 Frontier transmission as on the `95 D21 transmission?? Hopefully ALL the electrical connections on the `95 transmission are available on the `98 transmission and the connectors are of the same shape/design/layout (???).
Hopefully, someone experienced with this will give me some input.
Thanks
