Kevin:

I'd email terry about keeping your paid-for K&N, and deleting the one with the kit, since it's not an engineering item but a drop-in.

Just an FYI: The CAI kit will include a 3" K&N cone filter to go on the end of the intake piping. I also bumped the first thread where i attached a pic of the prototype.

Re: Stillen - Consider that they are a reseller, and very few of their items are proprietary. They've got a good racket going.

It's kinda like buying car wax at the dealer for 3x the price PepBoys charges. :rolleyes

Kevster, As for noise the CAI adds a very slight hissing at idle i only hear it in my garage due to the accoustics in there. At cruising the car is no louder. However at anything past 1/2 throttle you get a nice growl:). Hope that helps....OH as for HP increase...you got mail...I attached a graph for you to see.

Was not Stillen cone filter highly criticized here by gurus?

The Stillen Pop Charger was criticized because it was not cold air induction. This is a cold air induction. No filter has been demonstrated to filter better than stock.

Terry, I lost your e-mail...sorry crazy times at Microsoft with Blaster. Re-mail me. I want to know install details, I'm not a DIY and will take it to my mechanic in LA to do it.

Unfortunately I would imagine that there would be less interest in a CAI for the 02 than even the 97-01. Maybe in the future.

Sorry, I mistyped. I meant K&N cone filter was not recommended.

I'd like to join the CAI club if knew I'm staying here. If my current gig is not going to be extended, I'll have to find a new one or leave.

OK Gang....If theres any new interested parties NOWS the time to jump in. Im only going to be able to honor the price for the pre orders...It will have to go up from there as im going to be sitting on a large chunk of change to get this done. Im planning on getting the Prototype over to the production shop within a few weeks.

Terry....I believe you said that you do use the stock size K and N filter right? I already have that so what might the cost be if i didn't have to buy that from you?

The stock filter fits in the stock box...That get tossed into the attic:). The CAI uses a K&N Cone filter...Sorry for any mis-comunication on that.
