97 efi engine swap into 86.5 carb.

HI all! well i have a 86.5 pickup, and found a parts truck from a 97. Motor runs, and everything is in decent shape. I can pick up the 97 for like $300, it has been wrecked pretty bad passenger side. Motor starts fine and runs. My question. For $300, how hard is it to swap a 97 motor into my 86? i will have everything available, ecu, motor, transmission. everything. I was also thinking of swapping interiors as well. using a 97 dash in my 86 and since i am about to bag and bodydrop, i can use the bed on the 97 as well if it will all bolt up. If anyone has any input or can direct me anywhere that would be fantastic!! My motor now has a blown head gasket. and my interior isn't so hot either, cracked dash, carpet, door panels, etc... So i can reuse the 97 interior with little or no mods, i will bring that 97 home tonight!! Just need help or direction from someone that may have one this before.

Can you fix the 97 with parts off of yours that might be easier but other wise everything should swap over if their both the same. Cause I've heard the reg. and ex. cabs have differant beds.

No, the 97 was tipped over and the roof is smashed and front pass side.

Yeah if i get it i can spare a driver side marker no problem!!

What about seat belts? lol im sorry im asking for parts i just need a driver side seat belt so i can start driving legally again

No problem on the seatbelt, anything i can't use i would be more than happy to pass on.

And i don't think your too far from me either. i don't quite know where four oaks is (eastern or western NC) but I'm in south Charlotte.

Oh sweet thanks man i need the female ends... right now shes complaining about the synthetic i gave her Hey maybe we could meet up in our hard bodys lol mine...aint the prettiest but i still dont mind showing her off im still working most of the bugs out that are all mechanical but she idles close enuf for government work lol btw my name is chris

Yeah mine ain't the prettiest either, mine right now is primer green, got all the body work done, no dents rust or anything anymore. Just need to get it running, have a blown head gasket, and I'm not sure if i want to take on the task myself or just let someone else have at it. Then she's road worthy. Then it will go back in the garage for a 5" body drop and air ride. Then shave it, then back to white!! But yeah we can meet up one day and if this guy will ever call me back and let know that i can have that parts truck, you can have whatever i don't need. I'm just turing around to sell it to a junk yard and try to turn a little profit on it after i get what i need out off of it.
