97 240sx car wont shut off

Like the title says. The car simply will not turn off. I start the car fine, it drives fine, I put it in park and turn the key but the car is still running. I can take the key completely out and everything. Ive been getting it to die by popping the hood and pulling the fuel pump fuse. Any ideas?

Ok the problem has seemed to fix itself for the time being but I really dont want to wait till the problem starts again to find a solution. Can anybody atleast point me in a helpful direction?

I would check the ignition switch first. You can access it by removing the plastic cover around behind the steering wheel, and looking for a long cylindrical structure. One end'll have the insertion point for the key, the other has the wires from the ignition switch.
