hi, as some of you know, i recently bought a 92 coupe s13 and am looking for an intake cam. However, i found some s14 cams and was wondering if they would fit right into the 92. I know that the 91-94 engine specs are slightly different from the 95-96 in degree but was wondering if I got camshafts from a 95 if it would fit into my 92 with no modifications. Hopefully someone out there knows the answer to this. If anyone has done this swap or replacement, let me know what i'll need to do it. Thanks.

yes they will fit, but why would you want them?95 cams are some of the worst that Nissan ever made...

so the 95 cams would fit into a 92 engine right? What's the difference between the 91-94 and the 95-96 cams? The degree? If i put 95 cams into my 92 then there shouldn't be any problems right? Or will there...

there woln't be any problems, but you will lose performance.

the 95 cams have a different grind and do not allow valve flow in the same degree as your 92 cams do.

If you want diffent cams install jim wolf tech. or nismo. There is no point in swapping the 95 into your 92. no one has done that swap so its kind of hard to tell the power loss but i do know that ppl have swapped 93 exhaust cams into 95 + models and gained fairly significant gains, so just think of the reverse effects.

unfortunately i don't have that much money to buy jim wolf or nismo cams seeing how i'm low on money. I guess i should just keep looking for an 91-94 intake cam seeing that's the missing piece i need to make my car run...thanks though..i'll see what i can do. hopefully i can find a cam in the next week or so..laters

It seems to be the general opinion that the swap from 91-92 cams into the S14 will produce 4-5 RWHP, so losing 4-5 hp is probably a good guess, although not too accurate if you are swapping only the intake cam. If the 92 cam to 95 motor swap is easy, then you could assume that there will not be too much of a problem with it actually fitting with a reverse style swap, so depending on how broke you are, maybe it's worth trying?

It's funny cuz a buddy of mine swaped '95 cams into his '92 and it DID get faster.... dunno why or how, maybe the extra low end torque helped him out for more than he lost up top, I dunno.

I hope nobody uses this info to sell someone a 92 head with 96 cams put in and "forgets" to mention the low performance cams, cuz I would fly across the country to crack someones skull if they pulled that crap on me!

That's why I never bid on the 1991 S13 heads I have seen on ebay (Don't want to get arrested for skull-bashen)...could be some beitch tryen to scam for his money back and get a free mod.

Never know!
