I just replaced my driver's side CV axle, and after sealing up and turning the key, an ABS light came on with all the other dummy lights for the first time ever. I checked the lights before I bought the half-shaft, never had an ABS light come up. Now after a few seconds of driving the light comes on. I thought I didn't even have ABS, it didn't drive like it did. I have an appointment at the doctor tomorrow, will it be cool to drive?

Before installing, I compared both axles, they looked identical. What's the difference between the axle for ABS v. no ABS?

Welcome to NICO.

Your car will be fine to drive. The difference between the axles is that the ABS axle has a tone ring built into the end for the wheel speed sensor to read the revolutions. With the ABS light on, it just means that the ABS feature does not work, but the brakes will function.

If you didn't have any codes before the repair, I would say you got the wrong axle (especially if you didn't know you had ABS).
