Hello Board,

I Need Some Help, Just Recently I Had A New Alternator Put Onto My Car And Also A New Battery At The Same Time.....Today I Drove My Car For About 15-20 Mins And It Drove Fine No Probs. But After About 2 Hours I Went And Started The Car And Let It Sit For About 10 Mins. When I Put It Into Drive And Pulled Off The Lights Started Dimming And And The ABS Light Came On And The AIR BAG Light Flashed On For A While Then The Car Completely Died.....What Could The Problem Be :help

Was it a factory remanufactured or a 3rd party? Assume the battery met OEM specifications and was fully charged before it was installed?

Hope it is an easy repair.

I Checked The Fusible Links And Everything There Seems Aight.....The Battery Was Brought From AutoZone And The Alternator Was The Previous One In The Car Just Rebuilt.....Are There Any Other Things I Should Look Into Before I Tow It To The Shop.....Thanks

Its very possible it was a shizzley rebuild... Anything short of factory reman isnt enough....

Autozone batteries are just fine... I replaced mine with one, and its worked fine for the past 6mo... It has like a 3 year warranty, cant go wrong there!!!

you can always count on an alternator to fail, especially the cheaper rebuilds.

Bummer. It's probably the alt like others have said. That bites because the J's isn't exactly easy to remove/install.

I've had terrible experiences with rebuilt alternators. Best to spend on a quality unit. You may pay more but the that cost begins to look miniscule when your're standing by your disabled vehicle on the side of the road watching all the other cars whiz by.

not likely at all, but it could be a voltage regulator problem...

if you can tackle it yourself, remove the hose and take it to a machine shop that does hydraulic systems. they can make you a custom hydraulic hose. its probably gonna be like $60-100.

look in the phone book under "hydraulic"
