put shift into park wouldn't unlock no release with brake on so used shift lock to release (Sat.) drove car home about mile & half experienced what I best discribe as slipping in D4 prob progressively got worst in about, half mile drive goes into reverse fine but in any of the D's just race's rpm and move slowly.

Did the self diag from manuel on AT control at 16 17 18 19 20 and readings were supposed to be batt voltage got reading of 0.001, 0.002, 0.003, :help139000 miles original transmission original evrthing except wheels an JimWoplfe ECU upgrade

What kind of maintenance has been done to the transmission......?

Unfortunately, it sounds as if the transmission is cooked..... If you would have noticed it earlier, a flush, filter, and pan drop may have saved it......

I agree with Wes I think it's nearly impossible for to not be done.

Time to think about a replacement.Call Joe at 1-888-216-5328, he'll send you a reman for 1800 and u can get a ;local shop to install.

Is usually cheapest solution as dealer installed retail is 3300+.

Im showing signs of slipping (and probably would have been detected by a certain NICO admin had he driven my car :D ), and im probably going to take it in this week to get a full service done....... I have decided im gonna leave this one for the pros, as the transmission is very delicate and I CANT afford to mess it up......

Adding a B&M 70268 coller is cheap and simple whn you do the replacemnt. On my other Q I will do a 70264 for better fit and cooling.

fxjackson, I think. But I recall it was for the earlier 1990-1993 with the shorter 1st and 2nd gears.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

I need to "borrow" a Q in the Miami area for a few hours, to have a shop make a "blueprint" of the exhaust for BRM production (at my insistence).

If I use your car, you can have the prototype system at cost (in stainless or aluminized 2.5" mandrel bent steel).
