Hi All,My car was overheating so I replaced the thermostat and a broken intake water pipe(inlet) on my vehicle. This particular inlet is located between the engine block and the intake manifold. To get to it I took off the intake manifold. I put it all back together but these are the issues:

1. The vehicle idles roughly. I replaced the gaskets and placed sealant at ramdom just to hold the gaskets in place. Tighten the bolts quite well so I don't think there is any escape of exhaust and therefore power.

2. The vehicle has no visible water leaks, drove car around and checked well, but the car dumps/spills the water into the resorvior overflow anyways then the fans come on to cool car down.

Any suggestions are quite welcomed.

I'm afraid you are still leaking coolant when the car is on, and the coolant system is pressurized.

When reinstalling the intake manifold, there is a specific installation pattern for the bolts, from the centre of the intake manifold, outwards towards the sides.

Please check all of your clamps. Even though you may have fixed the initial issue, another issue might have come up due to loose clamps.

Good luck!

Thanks drunkmunky,

Are you suggesting that I should take the manifold off again and reisntall? You know, unknowingly, I did start witht the middle bolts. What about a change of spark plugs and wires (tune-up?)

Thanks
