I posted on the J30 side and didn't get much response.

pretty steady drip that came on very rapidly. Bone dry to dripping pretty fast with no warning. Checked the sensor and oil filter. They look dry. Doesn't look like it is coming down the sides of the engine from the valve covers. Rear Main???

Started just after I pressure washed the bottom side real well. COuld I have blown something loose???

If RM, is that common for this engine at a very papmered 114K miles?

Thanks,

Matt

Rear mains leak is common after enough years. 14 years is way over due.

Usually changed when transmission is pulled for replacement or mainteance [turbine sensor], etc

you need to get under it and find that leak man! If its the rear main then its going to look like its coming from between the transmission and motor!

I've been under and looked. Unfortunately I couldn't isolate the leak. Just lots of oil on the pan and bottom of the transmission where it mates up with the engine.

Any tips on dropping the transmission and replacing the rear main???

Thanks,

Matt
