heres a MAF adaptor. If your car is anything like my 4th gen, you could bolt this on to your MAF and just buy an AEM dryflow filter and youre good to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Hopefully ministerofdoom will help you out, he has a '93.

The cold air intake will add a little more HP, because it is pulling in cold air. However, unless the air is coming from inside the fender, it's not a CAI. Most intakes marketed for the Maxima are actually warm (or Hot) air intakes. Pulling hot air in from the engine bay will not help you HP, persay. The stock intake is very restrictive, and just using 3" piping will let it breathe a little better. The HP difference between stock airbox and a CAI is about 5 HP. The difference between a stock airbox and a WAI is about 5HP. The largest HP bolt on part for our cars is a Y-pipe, which will get you 16-20 HP.

Stock 3rd gen intake already draws from a good source of cold air. Putting a short ram or cone filter that moves it into the hot engine bay will not do any good.

Sure.If you make a baffle to separate the filter from the rest of the engine bay, make some piping for the straightest shot from there to the plenum, and use a high-flow filter, you might see some gains. The open cone filter should flow better than the stock filter in the more restrictive airbox. There's probably not a ton you can do to to straighten the shot from the fenderwell to the plenum, but if you open things up a bit, you could do some good.

Modifying the stock airbox and intake plumbing is another good route. It's fairly common and simple to do. It basically just involves removing all restrictions, such as lips inside the plastic piping that restrict airflow diameter, and also increasing airflow into the airbox itself.
