My 90 Q45 has a problem with starting but i'm not sure why. First I noticed that my battery didn't have enough water in it so instead of putting distilled water in it I put the same identical battery in the car with all 6 cells full. I also cleaned my battery connectors - and +. After all that I thought everything was ok but it wasn't. When I went to start the car after driving it not even 5 minutes after I turned it off I attempted to start the car again and all the car would do is make the sound as if it were starting for however long I had the ignition switch turned. On another occasion like the last one I mentioned the car would barely start at about 100-200 rpm then the needle would drop back down to zero. I checked the tension on my alternator belt which was tight enough going off the reference of a 92 Q45. I've had a bad alternator before which caused the car to read low battery charge but this time my diagnostic screen didn't show that. My questions are would the Q45 ignition where the key goes cause this to happen? What would my car do if the starter was bad? Do my battery posts have anything to do with this? I need to fix this problem before monday work week please help your NICO cousin.
