Has anyone with a 92 or later z changed out the airbag steering wheel for a 90-91 non-airbag wheel? I 'm trying to wire up the horn but i have problems figuring out the wiring. I looked in the service manual but it got confusing on which wire from under the dash connects to the horn. I see the wires for the cruise control but what operates the horn?

the horn uses a contact ring no wires needed

I hope you don't ever need that air bag

Ok i got that. I pulled this wheel from from a wrecked z. I forgot the plastic thing that has the pins that touch the contact ring. I went back and got the plastic box. I installed the wheel and the box and no horn. The contact rings are touching the pins but no horn. I check the fuse and it good. The three green wires that connect to the plastic box are for the cruise control correct? Is there a write-up on this conversion?

im thinking about swapping my steering wheel over for a sportier one ive had laying around for a while.

i know i need to buy a hub, but other than the hub can you give me any advice that would help when its time to remove the stock wheel without setting off the airbag, eliminating the srs light maybe, and wiring the horn?

thanks

There should be a yellow and a brown wire in the harness. The brown wire is the horn. Just ground that wire to metal and the horn should sound.
