Hey guys,

Is anyone here running a 9.5 wide wheel?

What tire setup are you using?

I just ordered 18x9.5 +45, and I'm thinking of using 245/45/18

Any input?

i was running a 18x9.5 +30 wheel, i was using 235/40/18's and it was a bit stretch on the tire but i had no issue rubbing on eibachs, u prolly wont rub with the offset being +45.

Love those Rotas man.

I have 10mm spacers from my old wheels, so if there's clearance issues with the suspension I can put them back on.

Isn't 35 profile on a 18in wheel smaller than the stock diameter?

well the 35 series profile is just 35% of how wide the tire is, so if its 225/35 its gonna be alot smaller on the sidewall (height) of the tire. The stock tires come with 215/60 so the sidewall is like 130 mm and 225/35's are 78 mm tall. if i understood the question right lolol.

I'm comparing the full wheel + tire height.

Check this out:

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

The overall diamater for stock wheel+tire is 664.21 mm

For a 45 profile tire it's 677.67 mm For 35 it's 628.65 mm

Basically your overall wheel diameter is a lot smaller than stock. Might be affecting your speedo.

Those Rotas would fill out the wheel gap nicer with a bigger sidewall too.

I remember you saying that you were upgrading to 19's tho, in which case a 35 profile tire gives roughly stock diameter.

You missed that he said 235/40 (not 35) which is 645mm od. He is a little small and the tire size you suggested is a little large. Either way, you will be off but really 2-3% is ok.

If you wanted to be closer than that - 245/40/18 or 235/45/18. Obviously the trade off is that some of these tire sizes are more widely available than others and vary in price.
