Hi all, I am in NJ area looking for a reputable resto house that can make some repairs to rusted frame rails and front wheel well area on my 89. Have been calling around for awhile and no one seems interested. Any leads you can share would be greatly appreciated.

That might be tough to find around there, or you may end up spending some big money.
I'm guessing you called body shops and mechanics. Have you tried searching for a welder in the area?

I called a few restoration shops and a couple collision places with no luck. I didn’t think of a welder, I’ll give that a try.

How bad is the rust?

The frames are built up for strength by nesting stamped sheet metal together instead of using thicker steel. The trouble I found was that once dirt and crud got in between the stampings it rotted everything out pretty badly.

I did my own car by replacing the frame rails with dimensional 3/16" steel but it was a lot of work.

Take a look at the attached pictures, everything with the grey paint was worked on or replaced.
