86.5 vg30 wont go above 2900 rpms

Cleaned MAF last week with MAF cleaner and reinstalled, all was well, ran through a couple of revs to clear it out a bit. Started it this weekend now wont rev beyond 2900 rpms. Sounds almost like its dropping cylinders. Not in gear, just parked. What gives?

Were you having this problem before you cleaned the MAF?

Nope. Just cleaned the sensor as a preventive measure and to try to get this thing to pass smog. Smog monkey said it was running way too rich. (Should have warmed the cat up more I think)

Is it a consistent skip or random?

Its constant. I hold my foot to the floor and about 2900 rpms is all I get. Kinda like a rev limiter feel. No check engine light at all. I was going to take the sensor back off this weekend and check/clean it again. Just trying to get this thing running right so I can smaog it and start driving it again. It's an 86.5 with only 103K on it!
