Ok. are there any other Coolant sensors? I was trying to say that say my resivor isn't hooked up to my overflow system. My light just came on two days ago but I have had coolant leaking for the past week.

what light is on? the little birdcage thing comes on when the cooland level is low or empty ont he resivior, thats the only sensor that makes that light come on

you have a temp sensor ont he intake manifold that goes to the gauge on your dash, it makes the gauge wotrk and thats all that it does

there si a CHTS on the frotn of the drivers side engine head, near the thremostat, it sends the temtp to the ecu which effects fuel mapping, and thats all that it does

this clean anythgin up for you?

Yeah that clears everything up. I was just wondering if there were anymore causes for the coolant warning light would come on besides the resivor being low.

That is part of the cooling problem. The cap allows coolant to travel to the resevoir. If you hook it back up, it wont puke out of the overflow hose. Anytime it gets warm and you shut it off, it will bleed the pressure that builds up as the coolant is no longer circulating or being cooled by the fan. Try reconnecting the resevoir, replacing the cap, and then check for leaks again.

Ok I'm going to do that. I really haven't had the chance to mess with it in the past few days. I went and bought coolant last night after I got off work.

Do you think when I had my system pressurized that the coolant might of been coming out of the release nipple thing. Omg I'm having a brain fart and can't remember what the name is

I got my overflow line fixed and filled up the take along with a new radiator cap I didn't have a chance to drive it around but I did run it for a few and didn't notice any leaks .

Burp the system? I've never heard of that phrase before.

Anyways I tool it out today and it still leaks but it's a drip when the car runs and right after you turn off the car. I think it's that hose that is in the picture above

Burping refers to getting any air out of the system.

the Z31 filler neck is at the highest point, bumping isn't generally needed, just be sure the heater is on when you fill the system

Z32's are a HUGE pita to burp

ive got a question.. i fed up with this coolant leak, so im going to replace everything that is associated with the coolant system (except the radiator)

my question is.. when i replace the timing belt should i go ahead and replace the timing belt tensioner? it was replaced under 3k miles ago when the car had its last maintenance, with its previous owner.

Honestly... I have no clue. I can only assume it wasn't replaced.

If the stud hadent been replaced or if your in doubt get a new stud from nissan, they are cheap

id just put a new waterpump on there $40 bucks and replace the coolant lines you think are bad, and thermostat while your down there
