83 Nissan Pick Up, No Fire to the Fuel Pump

The truck was running great and died on me, was not able to get it restarted. The fuel bowl on the carb was dry, so I figured it was the fuel pump since the truck still had the original fuel pump on it. I replaced it, then try to start up the truck with no luck. Got out the test light, no fire to the fuel pump, went inside the cab, no fire to the fuel pump relay, but I do have fire to the fuel pump fuse. All the wiring looks good. The truck is all stock with 104,000 miles, in great shape. I'm pretty sure its the Z24 engine, it has the 8 spark plugs, 5 speed manual shift, 2wd. Thanks for any help on this. I dont think its anything major, just need help on what else to check.
