Hey guys,

I just bought a  78 lil hustler 620 monday, got it running on Tuesday, and had a few questions for you all. First I cant find a vin number.. Where is it located on these? I was also wondering if someone had a diagram of how the vaccum hoses run.

Extra info:

My truck is Green with a white stripe, 5 speed, and I cleaned the cam before starting  I will post some pics soon it's pourting the rain today.
Thanks

It wouldbehove you to get a service manual for it, it helps alot.  I will have tolook at mine today as to the whereabouts of the vin but it should be in the engine compartmentand the wheel well, or back splash panel.

The vaccume hose are very simple but I don't have the manual here to help post it but,  there are some site that have it scanned in so you could down load it again that link is on my home cpu and not here so I will get back to you.

Why did you clean the cam first was it super dirty or something?

OK found the manual should be able to go here:  http://www.the620.com/620tech.htm

Hey thanks for all the information. I cleaned the cam because it had been setting for a while stradle a ditchline, so all the mositure had made the cam lobes rust so i thought it would be best to pull the valve cover and scrape and pre lube. Cause I really love these older vechiles. I drove a 79 corolla last summer and have 3 corolla parts cars!

Thanks

vin would be either on the dash-drivers side, the door  jam, or under the hood on the id plate...
and what's that about corollas? think you got your manufactures mixed up a bit.

BTW: I HATE Toyotas!

On my 78 dasun pickup it is on the drivers side fender well on the data plate.  Oh and by the way 71-521 I am a mixed up Jap car guy:

93 tota paseo, 02 Toyota Tacoma, 07 subaru forester, 98 honda accord,  and the most fun one of all the 78 datsun pickup, but at least they are all Japanese.

Hate is such a strong word but, I have to admit, I'm a Toyopet hater, too.

I've hated Toyotas since getting my ego bruised by a '73 Corolla wagon that spanked my dime in a canyon nearly 30 years ago. Sure, it was heavily modified but, it was still a Corolla wagon.

After getting a ride in a 2000GT, another quirky car that's actually more beautiful than a Z in my opinion, I've since tempered my anger with tollerance, respect even, for those who have chosen to be faithful and restore their aging TeRDs.  I even have a soft spot for early Celicas. My dad sold Toyotas for a living....but, then again, he also sold Volvos and ugh, Saabs.

Sell off the Toyota junk to help pay for the resto on the 620!!!!

Just beware of Camry drivers. That seems to be the choice of blue-hairs and other non-driving F-tards everywhere!:P

FYI, Your VIN will also be stamped on the passenger side of the frame in the engine bay right under the lower rad. hose facing up.

Thanks for all the replys! I will probably check the frame as the data plate in the engine bay is weathered off.

my 79 corolla was good to me and my Tacoma purrs like a kitten after 200,000. I also have a 85 corolla sr5 that is quite the zipper also over 200,000 But I understand not all can be Toyota fans :?

Can I be a fan of both Toyota And Datsun/nissan? haha :D

Thank you ALL :dude:
