NAPA is following Lowes which is sad.
NAPA will start carrying handtools made in Taiwan just like Lowes does now.... :frown:
So, NAPA is selling all of their USA Chrome hand tools for 70 % off.
The NAPA that I went to today had already sold out of all of their impact sockets/extentions and they only had the Taiwan NAPA stuff.
I assume that some stores might still have the USA non chrome impact stuff 70 % off.

I picked up a nice USA 3/8 ratchet and 3inch and 6inch 1/2 drive extensions.
ratchet was $11 and change and the extensions were $3 and change each.
The new Taiwan 3/8 ratchet will be $19+......
So, yeah, the regular price on the USA ratchet was $40, but for $11 it's a steal!

Back when Lowes was converting from USA to Taiwan, I got a 1/2 inch torque wrench for $37 and a bunch of other good tools cheap!

OK, I think I'm done buying tools for a little while.
Picked up some nice ratchets and breaker bars & 1/2 extensions.
Also 3 line wrenches.

Visited 4 NAPA stores in all. Only had issues with one. The NAPA in Cornelius.
They had a 1/2 breaker bar that I wanted. Asked the very nice lady helping me what the price would be...I actually knew, cause it's 70% off and had already calculated it.
She gave me a price $10 more! I asked how she calculated it and some guy stepped over and said 'you can pay that price or it stays here.'
She quoted me a price that was only around 50% off.
I explained to both that I had been buying tools from 3 other NAPA's and all tools were 70% off.
THen, the manager (young guy) steps around the corner to announce that he was the manager of the store and the deal is 30 to 70 % off on tools...% differs depending on the tool.
I again explained again how the other 3 stores were selling all handtools for 70% off and they had flyers on the counter with the same information.
He began to explain to me how 70% would be below their costs and blah blah blah....I told him that was fine and didn't want to piss anybody off and left.
Went to the another store where I had purchased some other tools at 70% off and they had what I wanted transferred to their store where I bought it for 70% off! :chuckle: Very nice guy helping me there!
Grabbed a flier to give to my 'buddies' at the Cornelius NAPA. :tisk:
Wife says I should just let it go.....but, I'm too much of an azz to do so!!!

HEADS UP: I did call a NAPA store in Mooresville NC and they said that they were independently owned and were not participating in this sale and that only corporately owned stores were. I assume most are corporate....the other 5 stores in the CLT area are.

I already had these in my tool chest and also carry almost a full set of tools in the trunk of my car due to my first car being a FURD, but these were soooo purdy!!!!! :gapteeth:

Much heavier than the new Taiwan made replacements that NAPA will be selling.

My local NAPA had a mixture of sockets in which I had plenty. They only thing I picked up that I could always use is another 10" 3/8" extension.

My NAPA was able to search other stores for me online. Was trying to get a 18 inch 1/2 flex head ratchet for my son but none around. He was able to locate the 1/4 and 1/2 ratchets at other stores and get them in same day.
