Currently I have the short throw shift from racingline which is amazing. But I still feel like the shift knob itself is awkwardly high (i have the razo knob as well) for as short of a throw as it is.

Has anyone heard anything about any manufacturers coming out with something to actually shorted the height of the knob? can this be done?

I'm in complete agreement with you! I'd love for the shifter to be considerably shorter as well. Unfortunately, the reverse-lock mechanism makes such a task nearly impossible. I don't know of any vehicles that have an RL system like ours that have the option for an aftermarket short shifter. If there was, I'd probably be all over it.

if you want I can get my car prototyped by TWN for a short shifter. they are 20 mins from my house and they contacted me already for my car. I told them i'd call them when I get the time lol...if there is a big demand i'll go look into it ha lol. since I already had the racingline one (that doesn't lower the height) I didn't care much for it.

Yeah, I also agree. to the reverse lock because it also limits us to use only certain shift knobs. I wish they made it where you press down on the shifter to go into reverse instead of the reverse lock ring.

as long as they specify the fact that the shifter will be significantly closer to the center console, i would be very interested in prototyping this (but i live in CT )

(would it conflict with the racingline install?)

it wouldn't conflict with the racingline on if it's a short shiftER kit. the two would just make shifting insanely short lol

I also Have the Razo, I am used to it, with the reverse lock out its be tough other wise you could easily cut the shaft and die it..but the racing line did significantly cut the throw thats for sure, I do like it

The RacingLine short throw kit is pure heaven! That, combined with a short shifter would be absolute sex! I'm in agreement with Phobs...if it was a push-down method (like my buddy's new Mazda 3) it would be perfect. This lifting up business is a royal turd of an idea...completely ruins the lines of the shifter IMO...
