Sorry I must edit this section. My painter tells me it was a base/clear paint job - color sanded all but roof and tailgate.  Engine bay was not touched.

I was trying to get it ready for the grand opening of the Datsun Heritage Museum.  Painter didn't have much time so we decided to just try and get the main portion of the truck done.  The bed had a spayed on bed liner and we didn't have enough time to remove it so we just shot over it.  Tailgate requires a week or so of work so again we just shot it.  I actually think my painter did much better than asked.  I only wanted a stock paint job and now this thing is looking outstanding.

I am now thinking about doing more since I have some more time.  NAHHH, I'll just finish what I was doing and get it into the museum for now.

Possibly I'll take her to the JCCS next month but not sure if I should put forth the effort.

Do you think I stand any chance of a trophy?

That truck looks amazing!

Did you fill the holes for the 1200 emblem? I don't see them in the after paint photo.

No, they are there.  I am waiting to get the emblems painted before I install them.

Hi All,

Done a great job with your datto famousyellowz. Best of luck with it. Noticed a few things different to the aussie version. For example oil filter (up ways, oz facing down), left hand drive, wiper motor on the right side of the bay & the motor is black (oz has a blue engine, black trans) May have been recontioned in the past, because nissan - datsun sold reco heads & engines in black & most has 1300 heads (1200 heads use to crack between around the valves & around the water jackets in oz) on them? My 63 n320 is original including the fuel filter bowl on the left side of the bay & clutch & brake master cyclinders on the firewall ! l will have to take a picture, so everyone can see the diferences between them. Good luck with future... Keep cruzn safe everyone Bruns

Notice the broken passenger wing window...well I just replaced it for $20.  Took the original, tapes it all up and pried it out of the frame.  Dropped it off at the local glass shop and the next day I had a new window.  Had a bit of trouble getting it back in but made it work.  A little wax helped a bunch.  I'll be posting pics soon.

I installed the front bumper but it looks crooked so I am going to remove it and try bending the brackets to get her straight.

I am pianting the rear brackets today, they are a bit crooked as well.  Will try to adjust them too.d

.....so did you have all that rechromed, or were you extremely lucky and able to simply polish what you had?

That is one nice looking rig. Why are they all red? I was hoping for a blue one, or yellow, or something??

Looks very nice!

I did the stainless trim myself and did a bit of repairing on them as well.

Looks very nice! :[/quote]Thanks...it was pretty clean to start with but a little paint and chrome makes a big difference.  I only wanted a stock paint job and the guy went nuts.  I think he does good work for a good price. The chrome work is satisfactory.  It could be much better but I am not that experienced with getting things chromed that were pitted and rusty.

- the darn thing was red when I got it!

They are likely in a format that won't work on this site. Just one of the many things to correct/adjust/revamp.

I'll repost them ASAP. I need to load them up onto some other site first - probably imageshack or something similar. When I tried to use the image attachment icon - nothing happened.

I feel your pain. I have a new computer, and I still haven't been able to get by my own security to access to my own web server.

We're trying to find a way to pull all the old attachment images from the server, but it's set up so strangely....

The good news is if we CAN find them, I will put them on the server and we may be able to create a thumbnail page where you can go in, click on the pic, copy the URL and drop it into a thread.
