Hi all, I'm looking for somebody with a 521 that has the rear bumperettes attached who could help me out in the big way. I have the bumperettes themselves, but I do NOT have (and cannot find for the life of me) the bumperette bracket stays. If anybody has a truck with a pair of these who could send me a couple pics of them along with some measurements of the steel that makes them along with hole distance and all, I would be GREATLY appreciative! Thank you all!

wazzuwilson,

Give me a day or two and I'll get you the measurements for the rear bumperette supports from my 320. I'm not for certain, but these should be the same, so let me check the parts manuals for the 320 and 520.

If they are different I might have a set for the 520/521 in a crate-o-parts in the basement. I know they were different and would not work on my 320. They are all cleaned up and painted, I just chucked them in the bottom of the crate. Pretty sure they are not front supports for my 320s.

I will also check into having a couple of sets made. Of my 6x 320, I think I have two sets, so I could use another set or two. At the very least I can get you a price for what they want to charge to fabricate these.

Oh wow, thank you so much Andy, that would be great! I was going to fab a pair myself if it came down to it but if I don't have to, that would be even better. If you do find a pair that would work for me, just let me know how much I owe ya! I would add a pictures showing my truck but I can't figure out how to do that on these forums...

Thanks again Andy and no rush on helping me out.

I've got a fab source here local that could run them on a plasma table - might make sense to have some extras made, maybe even have one of you guys sell them to recoup the expense of having your own made.

Not a bad idea at all. I was already thinking about either taking a set that Andy might be able to find or get me the measurements for and making a few pairs of them since they virtually never pop up on ebay. Might be a good market for helping other guys out who also need them. Do you have a pair or the specs for them AZhitman or would you have to find a set to copy as well?

Will get you pics tomorrow evening or Sunday with measurements. Been studying for my GRE tomorrow at the abandoned zombie mall in KCKS off of Metcalf.

320 and 520 have the same bumperettes and supports per the collision estimater, but are they the same as the 521? I'm thinking they should be.

I'll give my older brother a call and make sure I didn't pick up the supports for one of his British cars on the oddball supports I have in the basement.

Did you see these on eBay?

This might be the way to go. I'd ask for a few more picks. By the looks of the supports these are different from my 320 supports.

wazzuwilson,

After playing stump the chump with the rear bumperette supports for the last couple of days, I'm pretty sure photos alone will NOT suffice...sorry.

Both bumperette supports have bends on both the x-axis (horizontal) and the y-axis (vertical). Sorry don't know how else to say this, but the bends and angle are not on a simple single plain and cannot be bent at the appropriate angle in a vice. Pretty sure these supports were banged out in a 50ton automated press.

Here's a few pics -

Also, the photo on page D1 of the collision repair is INCORRECT. There is simply no way the end tabs of inner support points to the inside/centerline of the truck. It just won't work. So the supports should look like this -

Any other way and the attaching threaded, that's right threaded, bolt holes do not line up -

A few more pics are here, but don't know if they will help.

Let me know what you would like to do.

Thanks for all the help with the pics and information. I saw that set on ebay that came up with the bumperettes attached and it went for a ton of money! I think what I might do is just hold up the bumperettes I have to the truck and start from scratch on measuring and fabbing up a new set. Shouldn't be too difficult to do I don't think.

Again though, I really appreciate the help you've given me.

320 brackets are different than the 520, 521 brackets as you can see in the picture above.

The 520 brackets are flat compared to the 521 which curve down to clear the bigger tail lights.

Pictured with the bumperettes are the 521 style the brackets only are the 520 flat style.

As for measurements I will have to see if I can get some drawings done. No promises on when.
