I'm a 20+ year technician and Iv seen this more than once its not just Nissan its all of them, I have received parts from the dealer in the box still sealed in the bag that were bad, Quality assurance isn't what it used to be and it keep getting worse everyday, but you are correct thank god for warranties.

Yea, I can definetly agree that quality control has gone down the tubes. Its just sad when you work sooo hard for something that is supposed to be new and not have any problems. Ohh well, life goes on. The world keeps rotating.

CodeRed had this same issue I believe. He actually got a Lemon Law trade due to it. Check back in some of the threads.

Can you tell me what kind of noise your Versa was making? I am wondering if the noise I hear in my Versa might be from a strut. My 08 SL is making a "clunk" when I first start to drive the car forward from a cold start. It seems to be coming from the right/forward side but it is hard to tell. It will not duplicate until I let the car sit for a while.

Well...... The sound wasnt really loud. Its just something that I noticed while hitting the rough roads in my area. The left front sounded different than the right front. The left side sounded the way it should, you can hear the bumps getting absorbed. The right was different, the bumps sounded like they werent getting absorbed as well it was giving a slight thumping sound. I didnt hear any real clunking on my vehicle. The dealer looked at and said that they will just go ahead and replace the strut. Thats about it.

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't sound like what I have. I don't hear any noise when driving, it only happens when I initially move forward from a cold start. I will get it checked out when I go for my first oil change.
