is 5k a good deal for a 96 240SX in excellent condition?

I just talked to a guy who is selling it in the paper, he didn't know whether it was an SE or not (he didn't know what the diff was) but I will find out tomarrow when I go check out the car, and possibly make him an offer. All I know about the car is that its in excellent condition and has no sunroof, the fact that it doesn't have a sunroof doesn't entirely mean its not an SE right?????

its most likely a base model. How many miles does it have on it? I would take it for a test drive , check out the engine and still even take it to a mechanic.

sounds like a good price if it has low miles. i paid $8K for my 96 with 73K miles and it is an SE in great shape.

are there SE's that don't have a sunroof???

I've been wanting a sunroof for the longest time. I might not get the car just because it doesn't have one. The only way I will get it is if it turns out to be a really nice SE.
