4x4 help

85 720 4x4 hubs feel like they lock when I turn them can grab front drive shaft and try to turn the rear moves and the Cv shafts move this was with all 4 Tires on the ground any help would be appreciated need to fix quickly on way to get off this mountain if it snows

Sounds like the hubs are not engaging at all if you can still spin the shafts.

Tore my hubs apart found out some moron forgot which side of the inside gear the snap ring went on I hate idiots that think they ate mechanics

Put everything back still no pull internal parts move but believe the spring is bad gonna figure a way to make them work till I get the money for a set of warn hubs thinking a couple of snap rings between the outer hub gear and the spring should work only needs a little more travel

Warn hubs are nice but why not borrow a set off a junk Nissan at the junk yard?

None of my local junk yards have any 720's or Nissan 4x4 with. The right hubs I am thinking about going fulltl time 4x4 anyway

Well as they say, something breaking is only an excuse to do some upgrading.

Yeah me and a friend designed an easy way to switch manual hubs to full time we are gonna make a kit to fit my 720 we are thinking about patenting it and selling a few it works good on his 95 7.3 bronco we built

Put in 2 snap rings and got my hubs working till I can get a new set or I might do a sas this spring
