Sounds like something is still draining the battery when the car is off. Maybe there is a short somewhere, or something just doesn't power off when the ignition switch goes off. I'd probably start with the ignition switch circuitry. Turn the car off and see if something is on that shouldn't be. This will probably be a B*%&# to figure out unless someone has seen this before.

I suppose anyone can be wrong. I assume it is the correct battery for the car? There has to be some kind of short or bad connection somewhere I would think.

You've got a lot of small electric motors in a 240, for the headlight doors, power windows, power seatbelts, fuel pump, power antenna . Then power door locks, and so on. If any of the relays or switches are stuck in a on position it wouldn't take long to drain a battery.

Get the car in a quite area, with the key out, listen for a hum, it won't be very loud. This isn't likely, because none of those motors can run against full resistance very long and not blow a fuse.

You need to get someone with a mutimeter to go thru your fuses and see which are still passing current when the key is out.

From what you said about it dieing while you were driving ( how the headlights would die then the gages so on) it sounds like your alternator is not charging your battery. the alternator can be working and not charge your battery. You need to check the voltage at the battery with the car runing it should be 13v to 14v at 1000rpm give or take. and make sure you check the wire going from the alternator to the battery get a DMM( digital multi meter) and cheak the wire for countinuty (make sure you wigle the wire around it should have constant countinuty. if all that is good do a voltage drop test from the alternato to the battery there should be very little .01v to .05. hope this helps and sorry for the spelling i know it sucks.

I would say get a test light and probe all the fuses that shouldnt be on
