So I ordered the 3M clear bra invisi mask today for my G and it cost me a JWT Pop charger and then some...$270 to be exact...i am going to be getting my front bumper and hood re-painted after a cars exhaust in front of me on the interstate broke apart a did a good number on my hood and bumper...I have heard a lot of great things about the clear bra and how it does a great job keeping the front end clean...the kit included an installation kit yet I still feel a little weary about doing it myself and think that I am going to have it professionally done...despite its cost I am sure it's going to be worth it in the long run and I still saved myself like $300-$400 rather from ordering parts from the dealer...next thing on the list is the JWT Pop Charger and I cant wait!

Brave man doing the install yourself. I just had mine done. Came out very nice. I didn't want to risk doing myself.

ArizonaG35 did most of his himself, he should pipe in with some tips.

Good luck.

Hey Frogman,I bought the kit online myself and attempted to install. The hood and fenders were pretty straight forward as there aren't a lot of angles to work around, but the front bumper and side mirrors were a nightmare. Basically you have a 4 foot long sticker that really tries to adhere to itself and you only have a few minutes to get it positioned correctly or the glue will dry up... Unless you have extensive experience in window tinting, or unless you have the patience of a monk, then just hire a professional to do it for you.

I never got the bumper done as time slipped away from me so I regret that... there are a few dings on the bumper now, so I think it's too late to put it on now... Do it with a clean slate/newly painted bumper for best results.

Just a nickles worth of free advice. Get it porfessionally installed.

Hope your install turned out okay Ray... show us pics when you get a chance.

Dave

Just take it slow when you apply...You cannot pull it back up once it touches the paint.

This is definitely something I would not attempt myself.

I'll throw up some pics when I get my camara back from the shop. Wife dropped it off the counter and broke it. 2-3 weeks before I get it back.

I had the windows tinted as well, man what a difference .

As a certified installer in MD for 3M. I would not recommend doing this until the paint is fully cured 30-60days. It can and will probally bubble up from the oils in the paint curing. You can and have seen it happen pull up paint. For the bumper, if you line up the first 2 stretches it should be ok. Start around on headlight a set it then stretch the the other then stretch the sides. Good luck with it.

I wanted to do this too (paint and then bra) -- altho not myself. If I drive it without the bra for 30-60 days it will be messed up again before I even get the bra on.

Any recommendations on where to do this in South Florida?

Don't personally know anyone in florida. Contact your bodyshop you are having the repaint done and ask what their curing time is for the paint. Unfortunately there is now way around this. If you do get it installed I have yet to know an installer or trainer who will warranty it knowing it has just been repainted until it has cured. In a months time you may have a knick or two but just be carefull for that time. Here is a link to check out.

You can pull it back up. You DO NOT put this on dry. You use slip solution. If you guys are going to attempt it yourself you can keep soaking it. If you want pointers feel free to ask. Hoods and fenders are no problem really. Bumpers take time and patience. You will need slip solution and a setting solution.
