I went to the dyno yesterday to get tuning on my car, mainly get my Air/Fuel ratios right on. The car's hardest pull was 333 hp, but that was with it running lean down below to spool the turbo. Also, This was only 15psi, Ill probably be going back next saturday tune it to 22psi.

Yup, I think so, but I also think I need 400+ rwhp :)

Yeah, the A/F's were way out of whack when I first got there, they were about 16:1 in the bottom end, then above 3500rpm they shot to 9-10:1, Now they are all in the 12's. And YES, its the black line in the second link.

Stock Cams still yes, Only thing not stock on the head is the Port and Polish. My next mod?...well, probably more boost (20psi) and a roll bar/cage of some kind so I can go faster than 11.9 :)

That's what I'm wondering...

Power after 5000 rpm drops like mad.

Due to cams and manifold.

Yeah, Id love to get one of those manifolds that Jay had. I think he got it from Titan Motorsports.

We will be developing a whole range of KA-T parts, one of which is an intake manifold :ylsuper

I will have one out by the end of the year.

How feasible would it be to move the torque-curve up by 1000 RPM or so?

Rick, I wonder what the numbers would be if the engine could operate at up to the mid-6ks or so.

I don't know the feasibility (what all is involved/how practical/etc.), but if the same torque curve could be made 1k up (shifted right) at all levels then you're looking at a ~16% increase in HP. (In actuallity, the main thing would be that max torque is made at 6500 instead of ~5600.)

But I'm not an engine man. From what I've read (yes, I lack almost all "actual experience") RPM is what kills the engine...

Its actually a lot lower than I was expecting, suprisingly I make near full boost in 2nd gear at about 4500 and in 3rd and up at 3300-3500, I was expecting to not be making boost until a higher rpm. Granted the car is harsh and not exactly a cadillac, I have to be careful on street tires in 2nd gear because when boost comes on at 3500 it likes to steer itself around the road. Im sure if I had different cams and a different intake manifold my power band would be different. Although whenever I shift, I never get out of my boost range when I am racing.

the stock cams is your biggest enemy, then the exhaust manifold. while the KA's intake manifold isn't the best, it's hasn't been that big of a hinderance when it comes to making big power.

the jgs manifold is ok, but let's face it, it's a log. a switch to even the revhard would be an improvement.

what exhaust a/r are you using?

it is a log, but it's design is better than the jgs. all the runners go to the collector and not into one another. you'd get a better view if the manifold was flipped upside down.

Nice car man! Im usually not into S14s, but you seem to have hit the mark with your ride. It goes together very well, not ricey or over the top at all. BTW-what brand of gauges are the ones on the A-pillar?
