My Frontier just hit 30k --- Nissan recommends coolant flush, diff, transfer case, & trans fluid change, as well as fuel filter, in cab. filter, rad. cap, drive belts.

I normally do fuel filter & in cabin filter. My dealer also changes spark plugs at 30k (wtf -- I think they are 100k rated). I don't think there is any need for rad. cap & drive belts.

I guess I'm asking do ya'll have any thoughts? On my previous/other vehicles I've always done trans/colant/diff/trans case & plugs at 50k, belts & rad. cap as necessary.

I do drive offroad a half decent amount, and I'm not the easiest (or the hardest) on vehicles, so I like to keep up with maintenance. I just wanted to know if ya'll thought 30k was a bit too early or what....

30k is a big service for your truck but I suspect that a lot of those items are inspect only.

Nope -- Nissan calls for changes as referenced above. I normally do all my own service when possible, but I just thought 30k was a bit premature to be changing trans case, diff, transmission fluid, & coolant.

Trans and coolant flushes would be at the top of my list. Belts are probably OK, but inspect them closely for cracks, and as a precaution, carry a set of spares and the tools to swap them when on the trails.

Welp, I'm gonna go ahead and do it.

I'm glad we have the FSM hosted -- makes things a lot easier. Thanks AZ!

Ya'll think I need to flush the coolant or just R&R? In the manual it says "Replace engine coolant/flush system" -- ambiguous at best.I may end up having a shop do this for disposal reasons (though I have a safe/proper avenue).

What do ya'll use to lubricate hinges/latches/locks? Lithium grease?

Thanks for your help

Any recommendations on gear oil?

+1 again on that.

I did it --- awhile back now actually, just thought I'd update.

It wasn't that bad, getting the gear oil in to the front diff was a bit tricky b/c the bottle wouldn't physically fit in the space available, so I just used a piece of tubing (which took forever).

Everything else went pretty smooth. Trans fluid came out clean, so I only ended up replacing ~5 qts... I figured it'd be good to go.

Forgot to do the in-cab filter so I'll do it when I do my wife's brakes here shortly.

Newer diffs, esp. on Titans, are pretty tight - would recommend diff fluid change now.

Add one more: clean your maf sensor, esp. if you have a wet filter (K/N, etc)
