.302 S14.5

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Im looking at doing a .302 swap in my S14.5. Not sure which one, something pretty basic. Dont know for sure if im going EFI or just use a carb for the sake of simplicity. This car wont go on the street after, I live in Cali. I just want something to take to the track to slide around. Ive had the car about 4 years, its gone through many changes. I would like to get it off the street before I lose my license. Currently the KA is in place with a fresh rebuild. Waiting for smog. I just want something bigger. .302 parts are cheap, reliable and easy to find. Can somebody who has done please let me know what the pros and cons of this swap is. Im a bit familiar of the fabrication needed, but I would like to hear what others have to say about it. Ive cruised through the hybrid section. Theres a lot of info here, just looking for more.

Yeah, that's the most in depth 302 swap in the world...lol. He's a good dude as well, doesn't mind answering questions. Just post in his thread so we can all see the responses.

When I start I will. Right now im doing research. Reading, doing a lot of comparing and looking at S14 options. I don’t think I want to go EFI. I want to keep as simple as possible. I originally wanted to go 302. I still want to due to the amount of info on the subjectut, but I have the possibility to get a Chevy 350 engine set for free. I don’t know any info on it. I know somebody that owns a tow truck company. He said he has no 302’s but he has 350’s. I wouldn’t have to pay for it. What are the pros and cons difference between the two? Chevy 350 VS. Ford 302. Opinions?

I'd go with the 350 personally. The only downside is that the distributor is behind the motor. Either would be a fun project, but I'm more of a Chevy fan myself. A little cheaper for aftermarket parts and they are pretty much rock solid.
