Bought my Z a couple months back and recently I've been having a lot of trouble with it. Sometimes when i go to start the car the check engine light will be on and the rev will be very un easy and bouncing up and down. When yo go to give it gas the car will drop in revs almost dying until yo give it more gas. The car runs like total crap. But then sometimes the car will not have the CEL and it will run just fine. I thought it was my spark plugs at first. So i pulled them to see if they were bad, they were really black and i realized they weren't even the right ones. They were the non turbo NGK's. So i swapped them out and put in the correct ones. It ran perfectly fine for about two days until i hit this bump while driving, right when I hit the bump the same thing happened again. CEL with hesitation and misfiring. Maybe there is a loose wire somewhere ? I'm not very sure, Im not to familiar with these cars but I'm trying to learn. Also the the problem usually happens on a cold start. Anyone have an ideas of what this could be? anything could help. :frown:

Have you checked the ECU for codes? First thing to do.
Do any of the connectors have corrosion?

Get back to us what you find, that may have your answer in it. Chances are its a connection that is loose and hitting a bump loses connection probably CAS or MAF.
