Finally, my calipers came in. My rotors, and lines will be in soon. But I thought that this was the best time to find out if anyone can help me with the install. I dont know anything about how to install parts or anything like that. And I would love to learn. I live in Pasadena, Ca. So if anyone is willing to be helpful and have a quality day to install a front brake kit, it would be great for me, and my mind to learn. Thanks. Oh ya, and at my house, there are no tools, or anything, we barely have a screwdriver. So, I cant do the install in my garage. PEACE

Its a fairly easy upgrade to do, all you need is a simple set of tools, and a torque wrench. If you have any mechanical inclination, it shouldnt be a problem. Id help you out if i still lived in cali (i grew up in a little town named murrieta, but live in georgia now). What size calipers did you get?

you guys know you can get rebuilt 300zx calipers at autozone for like $80 each right. If you give them your 240 calipers for a core then they are like $50 each.

don't tell them the calipers are different, you need the early 90 calipers. Summint sells oem brembo blanks fairly cheap or goto http://www.twinturbo.net for tons of links for cheap rotors. Lines are sold there also. Lines for my 90 z were $100 for front and back. Then you need the banjo fitting that connect the z lines to the 240sx steel line hook up. Not for sure on the line size don't have my fsm's for both cars with me. You will need the hardware too. Courtesynissan sells them cheap. Just tell them you are a tt.net member and ask for STEVE. If you get the pads from them then you just need the caliper pins and shims. Nissan pads generally come with there own retaining pins so that is about $5 saved. You can redrill to 4 lug or get 5 lug hubs from a 240sx or z and put just the hubs on there. I can verifiy the hub replacing on the 95 4 lug 240sx only. I have yet to convert my 90 240sx.

So for the 95 5 lug swap all you need is the hubs right?

By early 90 calipers are you referring to early 1990 or 90-92ish. Isn't that the years that had the 26mm calipers(correct me coz i'm probably wrong)

Congrats!

what????????????? Lol go down to the store dude. O'reilly's can give you the same deal. Hell that it was the autozone here in Arkansas charges I don't know why they would be any higher anywhere else. I mean guys where do you think the people on ebay get these rebuilt calipers at and sell them for $180. Anything more is a rip off. Anybody can't get that price just e-mail me and I will send some to you for that price as long as you pay for shipping.

ok....i will give you all the websites you need! however i live in the city with the raddest junkyards... so you will never find a better deal on rotors than I. MUAHAHAHHAAHH I got my SS lines from projectsilvia.com. they offer a full set for like 140 full set being front z brakes rear stock 240! quite a deal! rotors you can get at pdm-racing.com or heavythrottle.com, each are very very good companies to do business with! and last but not least i would suggest swapping out master cylinders as you will experience some "soft pedal" from the addition of 4 extra pistons! i acquried mine from my afformentioned junkyard. you could source them at any autozone store i assume. or try ebay, never know what you will find there! hope this helps guys! and here is the elusive site to help with your swap procedure... Your car isn't the TT, so the brakes are dif

The following is a comparison of some different Z32 300ZX brake calipers.

The "26mm Aluminum" calipers were used ONLY on 1990 non-turbos. They used a 280mm x 26mm rotor.

The "30mm Aluminum" calipers were used on 1990 Twin-turbos and ALL 1991-1992.5 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They used a 280mm x 30mm rotor.

The "30mm Iron" calipers were used on ALL 1992.5-1996 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They also used the 280mm x 30mm rotor.

Of course, the easiest way to tell aluminum from iron is to use a magnet, but I hope this helps some people trying to figure out what they've got/are getting if buying with just a picture for info.

what is better? Al or Fe? Fe is stronger but Al is lighter

i did my Z upgrade about 2 weeks ago. have been inlove with those brakes for a long time, but i love them so much more sittin behind my rims. they stop real firm and strong, which i also love. i haven't had any lockup problems at all, either. was a great upgrade. i paid 350+shipping for the calipers, rotors, lines, all the hardware, and pads. i sold the rotors and bought brembo xdrilled/slotted ones. they are HUGE! it took about 4-5 hours to install the brakes, with about a 45 minute brake in there. was easy.
