= 3.5A/C FTMFW!!!!!!

I didn't even want to, but I had to. As I pull up to a red light, she was already there in the next lane. She looked at me, smiled, then started revving her engine... I'm like..."oh hell naww, I can't let this girl smoke me" .. so when the light turned green, we take off... I had her from the beginning, then started to pull away.. I was about 1/2 car length ahead before we both started slowing down for the next light, about 1/4 mile away... I looked over at her, she had her head down, just shaking her head and smiling with embarassment...

You sure you wouldnt have done that to her without the gt tuner? I got a friend with a non HR 350z and I always kill him at the track... I can only assume if it was a convertible it would get owned even worse.

yeah, I think the convertible non HR's are the slowest in the line up... their stock times are about the same as ours (at least that's what I gathered from a few reviews ) but don't forget, I have about 350 lbs of stereo equipment and heavy a$$ 20" chrome wheels also...

dude, you ever see one of those hot chicks in a hot car, that think their hot $hit.. well that was her... hair blowing in the ewind and $hit like that with her top down.. I was like, cool.. but when I pulled up next to her, that's when she started revving her engine... dude, there were people watching us like it was the Ok corral... I couldn't let her go back and have bragging rights over the A/C... I did it for all of us, not just me...

Well considering she had a convertible, around ~3600 lbs w/ the og 278 bhp VQ35 stock, and you with a 3300 lb 6MT w/ as you claim 300 lbs more equipment, and 270 bhp stock, at that point you both would be about even, + what ever the tuner added to it. I guess it ended up to who was the better driver, or had the insanity to gun it WOT in traffic...

covertible 350Z's had 287 bhp, not 278... and I easily have at least 300 lbs of amps, woofers, subboxes, speakers, Tvs's, and amp racks in the trunk... my car is not designed for speed.. but even with all of that, i still had a half car length in less than a quarter with no signs of lettin up...

also, I have a CVT, not manual

Whoops, I always mix up 278 and 287. Well I say the fat convertible + her unwillingness to stomp the gas might be why you did win. I dunno, I suppose it was an even race, even with your cvt (was her car manual?) OR you have some serious horsepower under that Coupe while her car is older and getting slower. But yah, at least you saved face and won. I suppose.

I still want an autograph! You know what I'm talking about

How is that GT tuner anyways. My understanding is not much can really be changed on a CVT altima due to how the TCM works.

yeah, sounds like he couldn't drive... I'm not downing your win at all, unfortunately stock or near stock G's and Z's are all in denial about their inferior straight line abilities vs our cars... in the twisties would be another story, but in a straight line... bring em on... lol

its all in fun though, it the same freaking engine with three slightly different tunes...

Hmm I can't say I'm all that impressed about this tuner yet! When I just had an Intake and everything else stock I raced a 2006 Manual 350z coupe with a CAI on the track and while I was struggling with my launch on the turanza's giving him a good car on me on the launch I completely closed that gap up by the quarter mile. (still lost but I trapped higher)

Second (Nismo exhaust + intake) time I ran one I had a 200+lb passenger with me and gave him the jump and reeled him in fast. The look he had on his face when he was getting off the highway was PRICELESS. (WTF??!) although this was the convertible, not sure if it was manual or auto.

However I have the 6-speed

Both cars were the 2006 350z that had LED tails but the 300hp RevUp version of the VQ35DE making 300hp at the crank.

I can't attest to whether it was the tuner, or the other driver just sucked or not! I think she had a maual, but it was hard to tell because she was behind me the whole time... .. no but seriously, I think after a few years, these engines just give a little... not really fair comparing an engine with a few thousand miles to one 2 or three years old... but I'm starting to see a number of instances where Altimas have owned the 350Z and G35.... I wonder what NIssan plans to do with the 2010 Altimas... I say more horsepower, and the HR motor in the manuals!
