alright, i got a friend to get a friend to give me a quote on headers and this is what he said:

"as far as i can tell it uses the same engine as earlier year altimas...if it were me i would honestly just buy the headers for like an '06 altima. chances are it will fit. if he buys it i can install them for $80 unless they don't fit. if they don't fit i'll modify (cut and re-weld) them to fit and install for $250. or i can just get flanges made and make the headers from scratch for $650"

really, I'm pretty sure the old Altima headers don't fit...

any thoughts?

i doubt it'll fit given that in the 4th gen altima sedan compared to the 3rd gen the motor was moved around in the engine bay so the transmission can sit in a particular way that results in both axles to be of equal lengths to eliminate as much torque steer as possible (i believe the relocation also results in why they can't fit a true cold air into our vehicles without battery removal). My cousin has a 2003 3.5se and the motor looks further back towards the firewall.

your freind is misinformed, 07white is correct, 3rd Generation headers will not fit dude, this car has been around for over two years... don't you think folks have already tried to fit 3rd gen headers on the 4th en Altimas and failed???? obviously, your friend knows nothing about Nissans

What kinda gains are we talking about here?

3 grand is a little man than half way for a turbo and some real reliable power.
