Hey so I had a lot of shift play and opened it up a week ago noticed the plastic bushing at the bottom was cracked and all messed up. Ordered a Cusco bushing and popped it on today, now it shifts better. Before with the cracked one sometimes I had to push hard, but shift play is still there.

Also I was hoping the bushing would fix this, but the car is iffy at getting the shifter into reverse and still is. It makes a rattle sound if the clutch is pushed in around 2k, say I'm in third and rev matching to 2nd when I push in clutch and go to second there will be a rubbing sound the second I finish the rev match and let the clutch out it dissapears.

Should I replace the rest of the plastic parts of my Shifter and if so where the hell do I find them it was hard enough getting that bushing.

Completely unrelated to thread title, my cigarette lighter power doesn't work, it lights up so I'm guessing fuse is ok, I tried taking it apart and fixing the connection but that wasn't helpful. It was working just fine until I put in a Kragen lighter that got stuck and when I pulled the lighter out it hasn't been working...

If its the stock shifter, play would be normal.

Don't know of any other plastic on the stock shifter.

Have you changed the transmission fluid lately? That may help the shifting.

May just have to get a different cig lighter plug, sometimes they just stop working.

remember your transmission has alot of miles on it, rattle could be worn components inside.

How does the lighter light up, but not be working? Is there an LED on it or something? Maybe you burnt up some wires when it got stuck, and it can't source enough current to heat the coils. I might try to connect the correct leads on the back of the lighter to GND and 12V (fused) if I was so inclined.

Biggie it's not a stock shifter it's aftermarket short shifter and I have no idea what brand it is as the previous owner installed it. Couple others have mentioned to try transmission fluid so I'll give it a shot

@Mike no idea, when I turn on the car lights the cig lighter light works fine, I'll try what you suggested.

I actually prefer the OEM shifter bushing. And I recommend this to most guys who buy a short throw is to get an oem bushing ASAP. How is the trans mount though?

Not sure how the transmission mounts are doing I am actually changing motor mounts and transmission mounts in the next couple weeks, as I've noticed the motor mounts are a bit worn. Thinking of getting Nismo mounts. Also where do you get your oem shift bushings?

Dealership should have the OEM white bushing, should be $5 or less.
